Child Safety Seat Checks
Did you know that……………..”Researchers observed nearly 22,000 children and found that just 3 percent of children between ages 1 and 3 who were restrained at all were sitting in a proper, rear-facing car seat
, and only 10 percent of 8- to 10-year-old children were properly restrained in a booster seat or a car seat.” Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/health/2012/08/07/child-car-seat-rules-mostly-ignored-study-finds/?intcmp=features
You can have your car seat checked at:
Atlantic Ambulance
120 Dorsa Avenue, Livingston, NJ
Seat checks are performed every Wednesday (except major holidays), from 9:00am to 2:30pm, by safety technicians from Northern NJ Safe Kids/Safe Communities and Morristown Medical Center. No appointment is necessary. For information, call 973-971-6477.
The Hanover Police Department also performs Child Safety Seat checks.
Please contact the main police desk at 973-428-2512. In order to correctly inspect your child safety seat we need to know the age, height and weight of each child to correctly assist you with the car seat.
Please install your child seat to your best ability prior to coming in to have your seat inspected.
Please understand that due to emergencies, call volume, special assignments and rotating schedules the officers may not be able to immediately respond to your request, they will get back to you on their next shift back to work or when call volume allows.
